Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost to travel to St Kilda and how do I pay?
The cost of a day trip to St Kilda is £285 with a £100 deposit taken at the time of booking. We do offer a discount on private hires which can be booked by contacting us directly. The remaining balance can be paid by cash or card on our way back from St Kilda to Leverburgh.
What is the difference between a one day and two-day window?
A two-day window trip is the best option for a St Kilda trip, the 2 days allows you more opportunity to work round the weather as if we cannot sail on the first day your booking will be moved to the second day. If booking this option, you must make sure you are available for both days. One day window trips are on the reserve day of the two-day window trips. If the weather is good and the two-day window trip sails on the first day the one-day window trip will operate. If the first day of a two-day window is cancelled but the weather improves the two-day window trip will operate on the second day and the one-day window trip will be cancelled.
Where do you depart from?
We depart from the pontoons at Leverburgh, Isle of Harris. What 3 words sprinter.nudge.perused

Do you offer refunds?
Cancellations with more than a month before the trip will have their deposit refunded minus a £20 admin charge. Cancellation within a month will receive no money back unless we are able to sell the seats, in this case the deposit will also be refunded minus a £20 admin charge. In cases where we are unable to resell seats or if the customer is a no show full payment will be taken. If we cancel the trip due to weather, breakdowns or not meeting minimum numbers you will receive a full refund.
Can I bring my dog?
Unfortunately the National Trust do not allow dogs onto St Kilda to protect the eco system there.
Is there a minimum or maximum age to go on the trip?
We recommend a minimum age of 14 years old. We do not have a maximum age but there is a certain level of fitness required to join this trip. Upon arrival to St Kilda we have to transfer into a tender to go alongside. We do not recommend this trip for anyone who is pregnant, has back or heart issues, currently in a cast etc. If you would like to chat to us regarding this please get in touch.
Can I camp on St Kilda?
Yes you can stay on St Kilda. Camping spots have to be reserved through the National Trust who we recommend getting in touch with first. Once you have a spot confirmed you will need to buy 2 St Kilda trips, one for your outward journey and one for your return journey. We only allow camping trips on 2 day window trips to allow flexibility with the weather.
Your Vessel
The Enchanted Isle is a “Stormforce 1650” and was built by Redbay Boats in Northern Ireland specifically for transporting passengers from the Isle of Harris out to St Kilda.
She is very comfortable with seating arranged in pairs down each side of the cabin. Visibility from within the cabin is excellent through the large windows which make for amazing views around the sea stacs.
She has full galley and toilet facilities with hot & cold running water and a large aft deck with outside seating. The Enchanted Isle has a large stern platform which is easily accessed by stepping down from the main deck. This has been purposely designed to allow for easy and safe embarking and disembarking of passengers.
